"Om"

As i start my blogging experience, I shall start with something positive, like a prayer we chant before any task so as to achieve success in our work.

"Om-bhur-bhuv-swaha-tat-savi-turvaranium-bhargo-devasya-dhimahi-dhiyo-yoh-nah-prachodayat"

The Gayantri Mantra, the prayer, the chant that i have been reciting since my childhood. The prayer which introduced me  to our vedic culture, gave a bent towards our vedas, instilled in me the power of character building and the importance of yoga for physical and mental being. All these things have governed my life since childhood. Despite my city education and upbrining, they have had a great influence on my thought process. Though, there have been times when i drifted away from them and have been swayed away by superficial nature of modern culture and living, however i couldn't break my ties with them. I found myself coming back to them again and again, which in turned confirmed my faith of direction and healing power they produce . I may not be very scholarly in my vedic/yoga  knowledge but i am proud of the fact that i am touched by its essence and the benefit it has produced to my physical, emotional and mental being. I wish to have that much patience and conviction in me, to go through as many texts as i could and instill in myself the wisdom of our great scholars and saints of pasts who have produced a flowing fountain of knowledge which can never be diminished or lost.
